The Salinas de Rio Maior are the result of a whim of Nature. A salt mine from a saline spring, <\/span>extensive<\/span> and deep, crossed by an underground current, feeds a well from which water seven times saltier than that of the Ocean is extracted <\/span>Atlantic.The<\/span> oldest document that <\/span>know<\/span> dates back to 1177, but it is thought that the use of rock salt dates back to prehistoric times.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
