This tomato smoothie is a surprising option for those looking for a light, refreshing, and nutrient-rich drink. Inspired by a more functional approach, it combines fresh vegetables with protein, resulting in a balanced, satiating drink that's perfect before or after a workout—or simply to boost your daily vegetable intake.

Tomatoes provide natural antioxidants; celery and cucumber add freshness and hydration, and protein aids in muscle recovery and satiety. A practical alternative to sweet smoothies, ideal for those who enjoy more savory and natural flavors.

Ingredients:

  • 4 ripe tomatoes
  • 1/2 stalk of chopped celery
  • 1/3 of a cucumber
  • 1/3 of a chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 pinch of black pepper
  • 1 dose of whey protein (optional)
  • 400 ml of water
  • 2 ice cubes

Preparation method:

1️⃣ Peel the tomatoes (you can quickly blanch them to make it easier) and cut them into pieces.

2️⃣ Place the tomatoes in the blender along with the celery, cucumber, onion, salt, pepper, protein (if using), water, and ice.

3️⃣ Grind well until you obtain a homogeneous mixture.

4️⃣ Adjust the creaminess by adding more or less water, as you prefer.

Extra tip: For an even fresher touch, add a few mint leaves or a few drops of lemon juice. If you prefer a completely plant-based version, you can omit the protein.
