Description
Sultanas are excellent antioxidants, a great source of fiber, and help reduce bad cholesterol. Being a good source of iron, they are also used to combat moderate anemia.
The phytochemicals present in sultanas help prevent tooth decay and reduce tooth fragility and sensitivity.
Constipation:
When eaten, sultanas swell because the fiber in them absorbs water. This helps relieve constipation.
Anemia:
Raisins contain a considerable amount of iron, which directly helps treat anemia. They also contain many B vitamins, which are essential for blood formation. They also contain copper, which helps form red blood cells.
Bone health:
While calcium, the main constituent of bones, is present in raisins, they are one of the best sources of boron, a micronutrient (a nutrient required by the body in very small quantities compared to other nutrients) that is essential for proper bone formation and calcium absorption. Boron is particularly useful in preventing menopause-induced osteoporosis in women and is very beneficial for bones and joints.
