Green beans are the unripened fruit of the bean plant.
There are three types of green beans: green or flat beans, round beans, and striped beans. Although green is the most common, purple and yellow varieties are also available. They contain dietary fiber, protein, vitamins A, B complex, C, and K, and calcium.
