Description
The lime is a yellowish-green fruit very similar to the lemon and is recognized by its sour pulp, being used in teas, lemonades, alcoholic beverages, among others.
Lime, like other citrus fruits, has juice with a high content of vitamin C, calcium, potassium and essential oils.
Health benefits
Weight loss
Lime does not have significant caloric amounts and can be used in various drinks and certain recipes, without adding any added flavor to the taster.
Rich in potassium and calcium
The action of potassium and calcium helps speed up metabolism and repair gastric injuries. Furthermore, it prevents bloating caused by fluid retention.
Protection
Because it's rich in vitamin C, it helps with immune system processes. It also acts as a detoxifier.
Improves stomach function
It also reduces hydrochloric acid in gastric juice, which is why it's responsible for reducing hyperchlorhydria. Excess stomach acidity is responsible for ulcers and gastritis.
