Description

Peppermint is a medicinal plant and aromatic herb, also known as kitchen mint or sage mint, which can be used to treat stomach problems, muscle pain and inflammation, headaches and nausea during pregnancy and should not be used for weight loss.

What is it for:

Peppermint can be used for a variety of purposes and can be used to treat the following conditions:

Stomach problems, gastritis, indigestion, nausea, and vomiting: Helps treat digestive problems by soothing the stomach, also helping to calm nausea and vomiting. Peppermint tea or essential oil drops are recommended for these cases.

Skin problems, itching, and hives: can be used to treat skin problems, as it has anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. Essential oils are recommended for treating these conditions, and can be applied directly to the skin or added to boiling water for inhalations.

Excessive gas and irritable bowel syndrome: Helps calm the intestines, and can therefore be used to reduce gas production and treat irritable bowel syndrome. In these cases, it is recommended to use essential oil or Peppermint capsules that are resistant to gastric juices, containing dry extracts of the plant or essential oil.

Muscle pain, nerve pain, and inflammation: Helps relieve muscle and nerve pain and inflammation, thus helping with muscle pain, nerve pain, pain caused by physical activity, or rheumatic pain. Peppermint essential oil preparations should be used to treat these conditions, and can be used to massage the area.

Headaches and migraines: Relieves headaches, especially those caused by tension or migraines. In these cases, peppermint oil should be used, which can be applied directly to the forehead or near the corner of the eye above the ear.

Cough, common cold: Helps clear the lungs, soothe a sore throat, reduce coughing, and unblock the nose. In these cases, it is recommended to ingest drops of peppermint essential oil or a tea made with the plant's leaves.

Mouth problems: Helps soothe, reduce pain, and inflammation of mouth sores. Peppermint leaves are recommended for treating these conditions. They can be added to boiling water for inhalations, mouthwashes, or gargles.

Swellings: Relieves swelling in the body by soothing, cooling, and stimulating blood circulation. In these cases, peppermint oil should be used, applying directly to the swelling.

Bad breath: Because it has a refreshing smell and flavor, and antiseptic properties, it helps eliminate bad breath. In these cases, drinking peppermint tea or chewing fresh mint leaves is recommended.

Peppermint should be used in moderation, as excessive use can cause allergic reactions or even irritation of the stomach lining.
